Alufon aluminium panel, 1.2 mm polyester with sheath
Sound absorbing panel consisting of two cold formed 1.2 mm aluminium alloy sheets assembled with a bayonet coupling so that no screws are needed. The standard measurements of the box-type structure, with a bearing and sound absorbing function, are 2960 x 500 x 105 mm; it is first pretreated with a dip cycle and then finished with a polyester powder paint polymerised in the oven at 200°C to guarantee resistance against the elements. The sound abatement function - to ensure the very best sound absorption properties near the most polluting sound sources - is guaranteed by a polyester fibre panel -70 mm thick with a density of 40 kg/m3 - mounted centrally in relation to the box element, and thanks to a 4-5 kg/m2 thickening sheath. The front protective aluminium element is drilled with an empty-to-solid ratio of about 37% of the surface with 10 mm and 5 mm diameter holes with a 13 mm pitch and alternating at 60° to enhance the sound absorption properties while the rear element is a solid aluminium wall acting as a sound barrier. The sides of the panels are closed with talc-filled polypropylene heads that ensure their durability, resistance to temperatures, resistance to the elements and a perfect seal between the panel and the barrier’s bearing structure. These panels are assembled one on the other with a tongue and groove fitting along their whole length.
